If you don’t like something change it

newsletter

Hey, it’s Matt.

Thanks for trusting me with your email address. I know the responsibility that comes with that and I do not take it lightly.

I've subscribed to newsletters before where the person sending me emails obviously doesn't care about who I am or what my goals are. They mostly care whether or not I'll pull out a credit card and pay for something. If I don't, they send more emails with fancier and more aggressive copywriting and more “attractive” offers.

That kind of thing has always left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm thankful I subscribed to those types of newsletters because now I know exactly what not to do.

A couple of important things I want to cover right now...

First, it didn't take me long to realize that to succeed in business, all you have to do is serve. Serve your audience, and they will give you something back in return, some way, someday.

It's not always by becoming a customer either.

Sometimes, it's by sharing something.

Other times, it's bringing you up in a conversation as a recommended resource.

And the reward could be in the form of critical and constructive feedback when something isn't the way it's supposed to be.

I am here to serve you in the best way that I can.

I've personally helped 25 entrepreneurs either start or grow their businesses. I’ve also had thousands of people watch my videos online and read my blog posts.

I started writing this newsletter back in January and it’s already gone through three iterations. The changes have come from learning and understanding the best way to serve you and provide you with value to help you reach your goals.

Over the last 3 months, I have been working on a new project that combines my experience of starting and scaling 6-figure commercial cleaning and property management businesses. I hinted at this in issue 31 about being first in any category.

The project is called The Growth Lab, a coach-led SMB Consultancy. We focus on helping commercial cleaning SMBs earning £100K-£500K systemize operations, boost performance, and 3x growth + profits.

As a result, The Optimized Life newsletter is evolving into The Growth Lab newsletter.

I’ll continue to cover topics to help you become a high-performance entrepreneur and strive for lifestyle optimization. However, the core focus of the newsletter will be on scaling commercial cleaning companies and how you can apply the same strategies, tools, and tactics in your SMB.

The emails you receive, recommendations for posts to read, resources, books, products, and courses are to help you reach your goals.

More features are in the pipeline. I’m going to launch The Growth Lab podcast and connect you with some amazing content by introducing a Five Bullet Friday-style weekly round-up email.

If at any point you feel that my emails are not serving their purpose for you, please unsubscribe. I don't deserve to have you on my list if I cannot serve you in the best way possible.

That being said, I care about only sending you content that might be the most helpful to you right now. If you can do me a small favour that will help me better understand where you are in business, please click on the single topic most relevant to you:

  • Cleaning Business
  • HMO Property Management
  • Serviced based SMB
  • Looking to start a business, working a 9 to 5

Thanks so much. I’m excited to share this journey with you.

Talk soon

Matt

P.S. I’m documenting my journey to building The Growth Lab on Twitter.

I share everything from how I scaled my cleaning + property management businesses to what to do (and NOT to do) if you want to start your own coaching + consultancy business. Sound interesting? Follow me.
